Switching to 10 Digit Dialing

Windows 95

5-dunprops-new1ax.jpg (31672 bytes) Double click My computer-> Dial-up Networking -> then right click on your XPRT icon, click Properties.  This is the screen you will see.
5-dunprops-new1bx.jpg (31907 bytes) Please add the Area Code before the number so that it looks like this.  Click OK and close all the open windows.  Your Windows 95 machine is now ready for 10 Digit Dialing.

Windows 98/ME

d-prop1.jpg (19855 bytes) Go to Start-> Setting -> Control Panel and then the Modems icon.  Click on the Dialing Properties.

d-prop3.jpg (16924 bytes) Put a check mark in "Always dial the area code" in the top section.

Windows 2000

If your area code is 503 this is the screen you will see.  Select your location and click Edit

If your area code is 971 this is the screen you will see.  Select your location and click Edit

Select the Area Code Rules tab. Click New

phonemodem1b1.jpg (38252 bytes) Type in the Area Code 503, select "Include all prefixes within this area code"  Check mark the "Include the area code" box.

Click OK until you are back to the Control Panel. Close the Control Panel.  You are now setup for 10 Digit Dialing
