Effects

• A “dry” sound track can be salvaged.

  • A “dry” track comes from all direct feed and no ambience.
  • Reverb can be added to simulate the room.
  • Crowd sounds & applause can be added.

• A noisy sound track is difficult to salvage.

  • Simple hum (60 Hz) can be filtered out, but watch out for the bass!
  • Hum overtones (120 Hz, 180 Hz) are more difficult to filter because they're in the middle of the music.
  • Dimmer buzz (60 Hz plus many overtones) is nearly impossible to filter out.
  • Ambient noise between performances can be dipped, filtered, masked, or edited.

• Missing instruments can’t be replaced!

  • So be sure everything is being picked up!
