Insert & Assemble Editing

• “Insert” and “Assemble” are both video and audio editing terms.

  • “Insert” editing records a finite time segment with a fixed Start and Stop point
  • “Assemble” editing records an infinite segment onto the end of the tape.

• Editing VCRs independently Insert or Assemble on Video, Audio 1, and Audio 2

• Hi-Fi, Digital & FM tracks can’t be edited independently of video

• Most VCRs can play one audio track while recording the other.
