Stereo for Video

AFV or not?

• Audio Follow Video is the standard rule.
• The rule is broken sometimes for special effect.

Stereo and Surround

• Stereo for Video is somewhat still in development and experimentation phase (except for music)
• All new productions should be stereo for better “shelf life”

Music: Special Case

• Virtually all music programs (where music is the central subject) maintain “audio recording session” style audio.
• Audio track does NOT follow video. Close-ups, special video effects add visual interest, but the audio track remains “recording session”, (high quality, balanced mix, no “zooming in and out”.)
