| Upon my arrival at Gatwick, I tried calling
Klien's but I couldn't figure out which part of the phone number was the international
access code (which you don't need once you're in the country!) I couldn't find anyone at
the airport that was meeting me, so I proceeded to EuroCar to pick up my rental car. We decided to drive around the British Isles and Ireland for two weeks because it would be easier to see the countryside and minor sights than the public transport would accommodate. I investigated getting a camper-van, but they were about $1500 per week! I ended up with a Renault Megane with automatic transmission because I didn't want to have to deal with shifting with my left hand in addition to all the other wrong-side driving issues. The car rental places don't hand out maps as they do here in the states. The rental car clerk advised me to stop on my way out of the airport and buy one at the petrol station . |
