The Museum of Science and Industry is indeed the size of a small city. The main museum building seems like a half mile long and is five floors high. Along with the science museum, the Porte de la Villette location in northeast Paris is also home to the cité de la Musique, and an Omnimax theater.

We arrived on a day when admission was free and there were sizable crowds taking advantage of it. We toured the Light and Sound sections and saw many clever demonstrations of various physical phenomenon. After a snack at the shop by the Metro station, we went back around the museum building to the Omnimax theater. The theater is housed in a geodesic dome covered with curved stainless steel pieces. From a distance it almost disappears as it so completely mirrors its surroundings.

We watched a feature called "Wings of Courage" (in French without subtitles). It is apparently about developing Air France mail service over the continental divide in South America in the 1920's. All the actors were American and it was apparently shot in English and dubbed into French. Somewhere in the Omnimax or on the Metro on the way home I lost my Intel baseball cap.
