| On Monday we joined up with a couple other
people from the hostel and went out to the Paris Flea Market. It was raining and the
market turned out to be a sort of swap meet of street vendors of mostly American stuff
with some Paris and France souvenirs included for good measure. Most of the stuff they
were offering was the kind of thing you could find anywhere in America, so it wasn't of
much interest to us Americans! I bought a couple of T shirts and the requisite Eiffel
Tower replica in cast pot metal. I also got a little replica of the Sacred Heart Cathedral
with a pencil sharpener inside(!) That afternoon, I went back to Cité to see if I could find my hat. Lacy went off shopping elsewhere with her friend from the hostel. Cité is closed on Mondays, but I found a guard in the office who found a lady who spoke English. I asked her about my hat and she went over to the lost and found to see if it had been turned in. Alas, it had not and I left France without it. Lacy and I made plans to meet up at Conran's after our individual jaunts, and even though I was 30 minutes late, Lacy found me wandering around. I saw lots of stuff I would have bought if there were a way to get it back home. That evening, we moved Lacy's luggage over to Marys' apartment (her B&B apartment next door was full up!) |
