Limiters and gates

Limiters and Gates can make sound better (and easier to manage)

LIMITERS & COMPRESSORS
- Used to control dynamic range
- Limiting just reduces gain when signal gets over a certain level
- Compression also brings up quiet passages to maintain listenable level

GATES
- Gates are like automatic switches
- They let sound through when it is above a certain threshold and cut it off otherwise
