Unbalanced connections are used in
some places in professional audio equipment.
Unbalanced is also used almost exclusively in consumer equipment.
UNBALANCED CHARACTERISTICS &
ADVANTAGES
- Unbalanced connections are more
susceptible to interference, hum, and crosstalk.
- Unbalanced cable, connectors, and
equipment is cheaper, and common in consumer audio.
UNBALANCED CABLE
- Unbalanced cable has one wire with a
shield around it.
UNBALANCED CONNECTORS
- Unbalanced connectors have just two
pins, signal and ground.
- Some common unbalanced connector types
